BOOK LAUNCH – “Finding Our Humanity” presentation by Leif Cocks with Q&A and book signing to follow. A welcoming prayer and song by Hwiemtum (Fred Roland) and a Silent Auction featuring art by local artists Ruth Aimee Smith, Carolyn Strong, and Hamish Tucker.
In Finding Our Humanity Leif Cocks shares an uncommon journey into what the great apes, our tribal past and a more philosophical approach to life can teach us about our humanity. With insights into the evolution of the ape-human mind and our shared natural and cultural histories, the book combines a compelling blend of science, philosophy and the intriguing real life stories of both ape and human beings.
